The Learning Ministries Team of St. James provides oversight of all Youth
Ministry events and activities, in addition to all Christian Education
programming.
Christian Education happens as people gather for some of these learning
opportunities:
- Sunday church school is available for children age 3 through adults on
Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 AM. Children age 3 through grade 6
explore Bible stories through the rotational method.
- Our Adult Forum meets at the same time, 9:15-10:15 AM. The format
includes some DVD presentations, some discussion, and a variety of topics
through the year.
- A Bible study group meets at the Coopersburg II Apartments each Tuesday
morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
- Catechetical instruction for students in grades 7-9 takes place on
alternate Wednesday evenings, plus camps during 3 summers. The program is
based on doing service and fellowship, in Small Groups.
- Young adult programs are generated by the young adults themselves and
include study and fellowship times.
- Teens provide service while learning through active experiences.
- Vacation Bible School is held one week in the summer, usually in July.
Youth Ministry activities include game nights, volleyball, bowling, and
biking. Activities include serving others through service at an Italian Dinner
in November; providing childcare in December for families as they shop; raking
leaves; feeding the homeless people in Philadelphia; Christmas caroling at the
local Coopersburg Apartments; and more.
